Choosing a tree can be a bewildering process, even for a professional. What you see today may bear very little resemblance to what the tree will look like in ten years. Or in six months for that matter! Then of course there are the site conditions to consider ...and did we mention all the names are in Latin?

Fortunately, you don't need to worry about any of this. All you have to do is tell us what you are hoping to achieve and we will find the perfect trees for you.

Advice can be obtained...

...at the nursery from our advisors. If you have a reasonable idea of what you are trying to achieve, but need help finding the right trees for the job, our advisors are the ones to tap for information. You can contact them by email, phone, fax, post, or in person with a visit to the nursery. Often, you can save yourself the expense of a site visit by simply forwarding or bringing in digital photographs of the project site (tip: put someone in the picture as a scale reference!). Your advisor will draw up a list of suggestions. If you are at the nursery, he/she can look them up in our reference books so you can read up on them. And if it's a fine day, and you fancy a jaunt out in a golf buggy, he/she will even whiz you around the nursery to see the size options available. You can hand-pick each tree then and there if you like. Just tell us which ones to put the Sold tags on.

...at your project site via our site consultation service. Our site consultation service is for those with larger project requirements, those who find it difficult to explain their site spatially, those who aren't sure how to solve their problem, or those who simply want the peace of mind that comes with having a professional on board with the project. Our Project Design Manager will meet you at your project site to assess site conditions and talk through your objectives. She will also take photos and measurements as necessary to help you visualize scale. She will then go away and put together a proposal for you. When it is ready, she will invite you to the nursery to review her suggestions and personally select your trees, or, if you prefer, can forward a proposal and select the trees for you upon your approval. The fee for this service is £50.00 for an hour visit plus mileage.
