Hampton Court Flower Show

We were involved at Hampton Court Flower Show in a big way this year. Would you expect anything less? Over forty of our award-winning mature trees were featured in the The RHS Edible Garden, the stunning centrepiece of the show. Our own artfully designed Demonstration Garden was nearby, where visitors could see how we work our magic. And of course our trees appeared in numerous show gardens too.

Here is where we were:

The Edible Garden

Designed by: Jon Wheatley and Anita Foy
Presented by: The Royal Horticultural Society

When we visited Hampton Court Flower Show last year, we were impressed by the RHS's hugely popular Grow Your Own garden, yet we couldn't help but think, as the centrepiece of the show, ...well... maybe it could have done with some really big trees..? But then that's just us. In the end we couldn't help ourselves and got talking to the RHS about this year's show. And the rest is history!

The Majestic Trees Demonstration Garden

Designed by: Helen Thomas
Presented by: Majestic Trees

Certificate of Merit awarded to Majestic Trees for Outstanding Presentation

With all the trees we were showcasing at the show this year, it only made sense to have an exhibitors stand. But not just a run-of-the-mill stand. Remember we don't do things by halves around here. No. instead we commissioned a design for a 150 meter sq. demonstration garden which showcased our trees and planting techniques in an ingenious and completely artistic way. The judges thought so too, awarding us a Certificate of Merit for Outstanding Presentation.

Vestra Wealth's Gray's Garden

Sponsored by: Vestra Wealth
Designed by: Paul Martin Designs

When a designer of Paul Martin's caliber comes enquiring for show garden trees, you really hope you have what he is looking for. We breathed a sigh of relief when he asked to see our multi-stem birch trees as we were pretty confident he wouldn't be disappointed. And he wasn't -- four of them appeared in his show-stopping garden.

The Copella Plant and Protect Garden

Sponsored by: Copella Fruit Juices Ltd.
Designed by: Sadie Mae Stowell (Sadie Mae Stowell Studios Ltd)

We got talking to Sadie Mae Stowell over a sample of Copella apple juice at last year's show. We liked her instantly and, as we had recently expanded our range of mature fruit trees, invited her to the nursery to see them. We were delighted when she placed her trust in us for supply of her apple trees for this year's garden.

The Home Front

Designed by: Tony Wagstaff, Southend Youth Offending Service
Built by: Southend Youth Offending Service

When Tony Wagstaff explained he worked for the Southend Youth Offending Service, and that The Home Front garden was to be built by the young offenders in his care, we couldn't help but be supportive. They were after a youthful Silver Birch, and since birch is rather a speciality of ours we could easily assist.

The Deptford Project: An Urban Harvest

Designed by: Alex Bell Garden Design
Sponsored by: GCDA, Cathedral Group

We supplied Alex Bell with three Golden Hornet crabapples for this small garden on a sustainability theme. A wonderful choice we must say. They are easy to grow and give a great show both in the {modal url=images/stories/homepage/shows/malus-golden-hornet-spring.jpg|width=600|height=400} spring {/modal}and {modal url=images/stories/homepage/shows/malus-golden-hornet-autumn.jpg|width=600|height=400} autumn{/modal}.
