A Frosty Welcome
Twelve trees to come home to this winter.
Christina writes from the nursery:
As a self-confessed warm weather gardener, I have come to appreciate the importance of winter interest trees in a front garden. Why? Because, like so many of us, that is pretty much the only bit of the garden I spend much time in through the cold short days of winter - mainly dashing from my front door to work, the school, the village shop. It is why, when asked to suggest trees for a front garden, I am inclined to suggest those with winter interest, especially delicate ones best appreciated from close range. Just as the flowers of our fair-weather labours fade, these winter trees step into the breech, gracing us with a little waft of cheerfulness each time we pass.
