A French cultivar with eye-catching bronze-coloured new growth, creating a lovely contrast with the mature green foliage which is slightly lighter in tone than the species. Small white, fragrant flowers on long racemes in June often followed by red fruits turning dark glossy purple. Does well on chalk soils. NOTE: Fruit is harmful if eaten. H5
